Digital Marketing Apprenticeship Complete!
In November of 2016, Kirsty McCrum joined us at nSYS as a Digital Marketing Apprentice. Coming from working full time in a corner shop, Kirsty was keen to start her career in Sales & Marketing. Throughout Kirsty’s apprenticeship she attended various training courses at QA in Glasgow and Edinburgh where she learnt all about Email Marketing, Analysing and Reporting Data, Search Engine Marketing and more interesting courses. Attending these courses helped Kirsty to expand and implement her knowledge within the workplace. Kirsty goes on to explain what she enjoyed about her apprenticeship:
“I enjoyed completing my Digital Marketing Apprenticeship at nSYS, it was nice travelling to Glasgow and Edinburgh to attend the courses, it gave me the chance to meet new people who were doing the same course as me. The courses were very informative and interesting. I have also enjoyed working with the sales & marketing team within nSYS, Joanne Reid (Project Co-Coordinator) has been supportive over the course of my apprenticeship and has taught me quite a few things”
Kirsty goes on to explain what skills she has been able to develop at nSYS:
“I feel my confidence has definitely grown, I have really been able to learn over the past eight months what nSYS do with other businesses and I have enjoyed that learning curve. Each day is different and there is always new information to learn. I have enjoyed discovering new tools to use in marketing from both the workplace and the training courses.
Joanne Reid, Project Co-Coordinator gives her views on Kirsty completing her apprenticeship:
“Kirsty has been a great addition to the team, bringing refreshing ideas to the marketing department. She’s done really well completing her course quicker than anticipated, applying new skills in the workplace that we all can learn from. Well done Kirsty!”
Finally, Kirsty tells us about the benefits of an apprenticeship:
“I definitely think more young people should look into the apprenticeship scheme, its a good way of learning on the job, it really gives you the chance to learn and adapt to the working environment. Attending training courses throughout my apprenticeship definitely gave me the knowledge I needed for the work environment.”
